Place your sandbox in a quiet spot where it can be monitored from the house. Ideally, choose a location that is half in the shade and half in the sun. Avoid placing it in dark, damp areas or high-traffic zones for children.
The sand should have fine particles, with grain sizes up to 2 mm being ideal. We recommend filling your sandbox with cleaned river or dune sand. Avoid masonry sand (too sharp) and any other products that generate a lot of dust.
The height of the sandbox doesn’t limit the play depth! If the sandbox is placed on soft ground, you can dig deeper beneath the sandbox to create extra play depth. However, avoid depths greater than 30 cm to prevent suffocation hazards in dug-out tunnels.
It’s not just children who love sandboxes—animals do too! Always cover the sandbox when it’s not in use. Choose between two protective covers:
To ensure a tight fit for your waterproof cover, place a beach ball or sand table in the middle of the sandbox. This keeps the cover taut and allows rainwater and debris to drain off easily. As a bonus, children can play on the sand table instead of the edge of the sandbox, reducing the amount of sand that spills outside.
Do not allow pets to play in the sandbox, as they may treat it as a litter box. Before each use, inspect the sandbox for animal droppings. Scoop out any contamination thoroughly. Regularly rake the sand to remove debris, leaves, and other impurities.
