Adjust the height in 12.5 cm increments. A root depth of 25 cm is ideal for most vegetables and herbs. Taller raised beds offer more comfort while planting and harvesting.

On hard surfaces, choose a bed height of at least 25 cm with a drainage geotextile to keep the substrate in place while allowing excess rainwater to drain..

Use an elastic sowing & planting grid to divide your square wooden raised bed into 9 sections of 33 x 33 cm. This helps you maintain an overview and optimize available space.

Use a fruit and vegetable cage to protect vegetables, herbs, and small fruits from cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, and other animals. Add a top net to keep birds out of your raised bed.

A square raised bed measuring 107 x 107 x 25 cm requires about 250 liters of substrate. For the best results, fill your bed with a mix of 1/3 compost (nutrients), 1/3 peat (structure), and 1/3 vermiculite (light and water-retaining).
