Complete your herb planter with a custom-fit drainage geotextile on hard surfaces like terraces or balconies. This keeps the substrate inside the planter and efficiently drains excess rainwater. Only needed for planters at least 25 cm tall and unnecessary if the HDPE bottom plate is used.

Thermowood: durable, natural, and timeless

Our herb planters last up to 20 years thanks to an innovative heat treatment. This process enhances the wood’s dimensional stability and natural resistance to insects and rot. Over time, the wood develops a beautiful light gray patina.

Choose safe and sustainable options

Avoid cheap, chemically treated herb planters made from less durable wood. Chemically treated wood, even if water-based, is unsuitable for growing edible plants. Choose pure, natural materials for sustainable and healthy homegrown vegetables and herbs.

*On hard surfaces, the ground spikes are replaced with support stakes that are the same height as the herb planter. Be sure to mention this when ordering so that the correct support stakes are included.

Get more out of your wooden herb planter

Herbs need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Place them in a sunny spot in your garden, balcony, or terrace.

Water herbs regularly, but ensure the soil feels dry between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot.

Trim herb sprigs regularly to encourage growth and keep them compact and healthy. Harvest herbs in the morning for the best flavor.

A wooden herb planter of 107 x 29 x 25 cm requires approximately 50 liters of substrate. Ideally, fill it with a mix of 1/3 compost (nutrition), 1/3 peat (structure), and 1/3 vermiculite (aeration and water retention).

For assembling a 210 cm long herb planter (12,5 or 25 cm high) on a hard surface, it’s strongly recommended to add 2 beam connectors to your order. These prevent slight outward bowing where beams connect lengthwise. From a height of 37.5 cm, connectors are always included.
