Flexible dimensions
Adapt the dimensions of your E-shaped planter to fit your space. Increase the height in 12.5 cm increments for the perfect working level. For most vegetables and herbs, a root depth of 25 cm is sufficient.

On hard surfaces where plants cannot root further, a minimum planter height of 25 cm is recommended. Taller planters offer added comfort, reducing the need to bend deeply during sowing, planting, or harvesting.

Suitable for any surface
For hard surfaces, choose a planter height of at least 25 cm with a custom drainage geotextile to retain the substrate and drain water. On garden soil, a geotextile is unnecessary.

*On hard surfaces, the spikes are replaced by support stakes that are the same height as the planter. Be sure to specify this when ordering to ensure the correct support stakes are included.

Substrate recommendation

Fill an E-shaped wooden planter with outer dimensions of 369 x 160 x 25 cm with approximately 800 liters of substrate, consisting of:

• 1/3 compost (nutrients)
• 1/3 peat moss (structure)
• 1/3 vermiculite (aeration and water retention).

This mix creates the ideal growing medium for your plants, flowers, and herbs! Consult our planter guide for substrate volumes for other planter sizes.

Ordering tip
For planters taller than 25 cm, the wooden beam joints may bulge slightly outward due to lateral pressure. Prevent this by placing aluminum connectors at these beam joints on the top layer.

These connectors are included for planters 37,5 cm high or taller. For lower planters of 12,5 or 25 cm on hard surfaces, we recommend ordering enough beam connectors.
